This report of wheel loaders in North America updates our last analysis from 2016. Wheel loaders work in a variety of construction and maintenance applications, thus making them one of the more typically-used pieces of earth-moving machinery. The range of applications is considerable, with lightly-powered (20-25 hp) models used in landscaping and gardening and the most powerful machines (2,000 hp) employed in large-scale mining operations. Falling in between these two extremes are machines working in highway and street construction and repair, industrial and utility applications, quarrying and light mining, and numerous types of building construction. They have more limited uses in the agricultural and dairy markets.
This report provides estimates of sales and production over the last five years. It also analyzes regional distribution, import and export activity, market and technological trends, and end-use markets. It includes company profiles and provides a five year forecast of sales and production. The report concludes with a listing of company models and specifications. A summary of the 2016 market is listed below in Table 1, broken down between compact (<80 hp) and standard (>80 hp) wheel loaders.
