The rough-terrain lift truck markets in North America have made a full recovery in terms of unit sales and production when compared to the dramatic lows experienced between 2001 and 2003. Since then, most suppliers of these machines have had a harder time keeping up with the sharp increases in market demand than ever before, and today’s order translates into multiple months before actual delivery in some cases.
With the pent up telehandler demand that has been fueled by strong construction spending in all types of construction, 2005 is already proving to be more lucrative than 2004 in sales and production levels, and we believe this year will end up more than 50 percent higher than 2004’s end result.
