This report examines the Aerial Work Platform market in North America and is an update to our previous report of December 2004. The aerial work platform (AWP) market in North America plummeted in 2002 and 2003 with many smaller manufacturers leaving the market entirely. Things began to turnaround in 2004 with both sales and production beginning an upward trend. Those manufacturers finding their way through the tough years have seen sales reach even greater numbers than before the recent decline. A few smaller manufacturers are attempting to return to the production and sales of their AWP lines – some trying to come out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy, new ownership or joining ranks with other producers – in hopes of reintroducing their AWP lines and joining in on the growing demand for scissor and boom lifts.
