 Mini-excavators are excavators weighing six metric tons or less. These machines do basically the same type of work as larger excavators: Digging earth and removing it for construction applications. Mini, or compact, excavators are also used for agricultural, landscaping, and mining purposes. Many mini-excavators are small enough to fit through doorways and can be used indoors.
