CURRENT MODELS AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The concept of horizontal directional drills (HDD) used in construction began in the early 1970s with a unique product for underground construction developed by Martin Cherrington and his company, Titan Contractors. A few customized rigs were manufactured for contractors with special jobsite needs during the following years before Charles Machine Works introduced its first directional drilling products under the “Charles Machine Works” brand name in 1989, followed by Vermeer in 1991 and American Augers in 1995.
