The following report is an update to the Compact Track Loaders (CTLs) report last published in 2007. These machines are strikingly similar to Skid Steer Loaders, however, they utilize a tracked undercarriage instead of wheels and found to be far more useful in diverse jobsite environments ranging from dry, sandy, and rugged, to wet, muddy, and icy conditions where typical skid steer loaders find it difficult operating efficiently. Although compact track loaders have been around for quite some time now in construction, agricultural and industrial applications, this machinery market experienced explosive sales between 2002 and 2007 where sales increased an amazing 450 percent.  With the recent downturn in the global economy led first by the deflating housing market in North America and then followed by the failing banking system, sales have plummeted from their highs a few years ago.  The growth seen in those years proved that compact track loaders were here to stay as a viable alternative to the already popular skid steer loader, but with negative affects to that market as many contractors began replacing skid steers with track loaders.  This report provides an in-depth analysis of the market for these machines.
