The backhoe loader is used mainly for commercial, residential, and highway construction although it has some agricultural and landscaping applications. This earthmoving machine is similar to a front-end loader or excavator but the distinguishing feature is a "backhoe," an arm with a digging bucket, located on the back end of the machine.
