ARTICULATED HAULERS: CURRENT MODELS & TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
This report on off-highway haulers updates our last report dated September 2007.  Again, we cover articulated and rigid trucks (sometimes referred to as dump trucks) used in off-highway applications for moving materials in mines, quarries, construction job sites, and various other industrial activities. During the past two years, these trucks have experienced both peak market conditions, as well as severe downturns caused by the pending recession and complete loss of certain construction markets such as housing, which indirectly affected the articulated truck market. The rigid truck market has been affected on the upside by too much demand for the industry to handle, major disruptions in deliveries from the lack of large mining truck tires, and swinging commodity prices affecting the mining industry’s need for trucks.
