ARTICULATED HAULERS: CURRENT MODELS & TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
This report updates our July 2009 Articulated and Rigid Hauler Equipment Analysis. It covers articulated and rigid trucks used in off-road applications including mines, quarries and construction sites. The report includes sales and production levels, component usage, imports and exports and forecasts through the end of 2016. Haulers have been in high demand for the past two years due to stronger emerging market construction and the resulting increased mining activity and commodity prices.

Articulated haulers are used to move materials over rough surfaces and are capable of great speed and cycle times. Initially they were widely used in mines and quarries and are now also used by construction contractors and landfill companies. Rigid trucks rated under 100 tons payload weight are typically found in construction and quarrying applications, while trucks rated over 100 tons are used in large quarries and mines.  Mining trucks now range in size to 400 tons load capacity.
