Komatsu Ltd., the parent of the Komatsu group, is the world’s second largest manufacturer and supplier of construction, mining and compact construction equipment. Komatsu group includes the Company, more than 146 consolidated subsidiaries and approximately 35 affiliates. Approximately 89 percent of the company’s sales and employees are related to the Construction, Mining and Utility Equipment segment. Komatsu is a major supplier of eight major equipment products in the United States and Canada

Komatsu America Corp. (KAC), a subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd., is based in Rolling Meadows, Illinois and has had operations in North American since 1970. KAC’s North America manufacturing facilities in the Americas include; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Peoria, Illinois; Newberry, South Carolina; and São Paulo, Brazil. Komatsu America is one of the largest suppliers of construction and mining equipment in North America along with Caterpillar, Deere, Volvo and JCB. We estimate the company has roughly 1,800 employees in North America as of March 31, 2013. Komatsu America markets the entire line of Komatsu products excluding fork lift trucks and vehicles outside of construction and mining machinery.
